| Since we limit our
class strength to fewer than twenty five students Alpina School has
an admission limit of only 35 places each year. Once places have been
filled by children in the priority area seats can be offered to children
living outside the area. Should it be necessary, these places are
allocated on the distance from the school as the "crow flies".
(Siblings of on roll students are taking first preference.)
Should we be unable to offer your child a place at one of our branches
you have the right to appeal and should write to the Directors in
the first instance.
Parents considering sending their children to Alpina School are
welcome to telephone for an appointment to meet the Principal and
see "Alpina at work".
Special Needs Admission Arrangements
The school encourages early communication from parents of children
with special educational needs. Home visits to assess individual
needs and links with involved outside agencies would help to ensure
a smooth start.
The school is committed to providing a caring environment within
which children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) can develop
their potential to the full.
In consultation with parents and the school's Special Needs Co-ordinator
(SENCO) all staff contribute towards the identification and assessment
of children's special educational needs, and to securing for each
child an educational programme suited to their individual requirements,
using the resources of the school and any relevant outside agencies.
